The challenge
Powerplus needed a consumer platform that did more than present a product catalogue. Customers had to be able to find products, register purchases, participate in cashback campaigns, collect points and use those points in an online shop. Behind the public experience, each interaction also had to connect with existing Navision processes so that digital features did not become isolated campaign tools.
Role and scope
As lead web developer, David was responsible for the technical direction of the platform and its connection to the wider operation. The role covered the public web experience, backend services and ERP integration. It also required translating several customer programmes into one understandable journey while keeping the resulting platform maintainable for continued development.
One connected customer platform
The website brought product discovery, product registration, cashback, loyalty points and the points-based shop together in one environment. Customers could move between these capabilities without switching to unrelated campaign sites or disconnected forms. Social media connections supported engagement around the platform and its products.
Bringing the flows together also created a consistent place to handle customer identity, product information and reward status. Each feature remained distinct, but shared the same technical and operational foundation.
Architecture and integrations
A .NET backend exposed the application services and connected web interactions to Navision. Vue and Nuxt were used for the customer-facing interface, with Firebase supporting cloud application capabilities. Algolia provided responsive product search so that customers could move quickly through a substantial catalogue.
Navision remained the operational source behind relevant product and customer processes. The integration was designed to exchange the information needed by the website while avoiding parallel manual administration between the digital platform and the ERP.
Rewards and operational workflows
Product registration and cashback functionality captured the information needed to follow customer claims. The points system then supported earning and redeeming rewards through the e-shop. These flows had to provide clear status to customers while supplying the back office with structured information that could be followed through the connected systems.
The platform architecture allowed those programmes to share reusable services rather than each requiring a completely separate technical solution.
Result
Powerplus gained a single consumer platform that connected product content, discovery, registration and rewards with the company’s operational systems. Customers received a more coherent journey, while the business could manage multiple digital programmes on one maintainable foundation. The combination of .NET, Vue, Nuxt, Firebase, Algolia and Navision provided a practical base for continued improvement as product and campaign needs changed.
